Course 1: AI foundations: ethics, governance & prompting, 19 - 23 January 2026

This foundational course equips nonprofits with the essential knowledge they need to adopt Artificial Intelligence (AI) responsibly and effectively, with a particular focus on Generative AI (GenAI). Participants will develop a solid understanding of GenAI, key concepts in AI ethics, and relevant governance frameworks. By the end of the short course, they will be able to identify and evaluate opportunities, use cases, and potential risks associated with AI adoption. Through practical guidance, they will establish an internal ethical and governance framework, and master foundational prompting techniques. This course empowers nonprofits to begin harnessing AI’s potential in their work in a responsible and impactful way. This course is developed by PoliSync in collaboration with Globethics, Caux Initiatives of Change, and ICVA, and made possible as a non-profit initiative by Microsoft Elevate.

Course 2: AI for operations, admin & planning, 1-5 December

This module empowers nonprofit professionals to transform their internal operations using AI tools tailored to their existing digital ecosystems. Whether working with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or other platforms, participants will learn to build an integrated AI toolkit that streamlines administrative tasks, enhances team collaboration, and frees up time for mission-critical work. Using the "organizational house" framework, participants will understand how to layer AI tools from data management (foundation) through to automation (top floor). The module emphasizes practical, immediately applicable solutions for common nonprofit challenges: managing meetings efficiently, processing documents quickly, maintaining donor communications at scale, and tracking organizational data effectively.

Course 3: AI for research, insights & data, 8-12 December

Turn data into knowledge for action and policy change. Use GenAI as your research assistant with advanced prompts & ‘expert’ trained gpts. Sharpen research questions, notes, search strings & ‘what’s known/unkown’ prompts. Triage open-web sources & return evidence tables with links. Uncover more in other languages. Analyze and visualize data with AI tools. Scan & compare case studies or policies.

Course 4: AI-powered content, storytelling & advocacy, 15-19 December

Strengthen communications and advocacy impact. Draft & refine newsletters, blogs, and social posts; Create fundraising and grant materials with AI support; Clarify policy/advocacy goals and identify key audiences; Conduct advanced stakeholder mappings & analyse their positions; Generate campaign content (text, visuals, languages).
